Home at last, and exhausted. I'm probably still recovering from [SXSW's eccentric mentor and sci-fi author] Bruce Sterling's incredible party. This party dwarfed the one last year. Bruce says, "Somebody drank *all* the lychee brandy. That scares me." Lorika and I both partook of the sweet lychee, more out of curiosity than desparation.

Unfortunately I left my camera bag + firewire cable at the party, so I can't post any video at the moment. I documented glimpses of the madness, including Min Jung Kim's sought-after kissing meme. I finally interviewed Weblog Awards-founder Nikolai Nolan... under a nearby streetlight to escape the party insanity.

I also had the pleasure of interviewing a very tired, tolerant, and eloquent Cameron Barrett in our hotel room until 3am last night. Cam was the mastermind behind Wes Clark's online community and blog activities, and is now consulting for the Kerry campaign. They're lucky to have Cam on their team, because not only is he a genius, but he really wants to kick Bush the hell out of the White House. Cam quote: "Everybody should have a blog."

Sharyn, I want to talk to Ursula. Is Ursula in there?

thanks ladies. i'll try to come up with some dashing derring-do tales. lots of police, broken hotel windows and half-naked bar brawls at these geek conventions you know.
