FINE LINE: 1 YEAR LATER

I haven't been back to the Fine Line Music Cafe since... The Incident. I thought I'd be blacklisted, but everything went smoothly. I was going to see Stellastarr, a band I've admired for a year or two and always wanted to see. (Thanks for the hookup, Secret Bro!) Unfortunately, the order got switched around so we missed them. Instead we saw Editors. They had a bright light show, and Lori described them as "big, melodious and polished." I was, and remain, a bit suspicious. Every time I toss my gay 80's hair back I hit another Joy Division/Interpol derivation. Am I supposed to care? And yet, I dig those bass lines, and crooning deadpan vocals that should originate from a fellow named Ian. (Ian Curtis or Ian McCulloch? Exactly.)
