My current obsession

The Canon A1. Mmmm. Lots of great footage posted here.

Lori makes fun of me for how I can't seem to keep a camera for longer than 6 months. My Sony HC1 has served me well, and is the high-end vloggercam of choice for Rocketboom and lots of people. However, a lot of work I'm doing would be better served by a more professional, heavy-duty camera with lots of manual control. And, I think I've found it in the A1. *swoon*

I feel the same way Chuck. I'm thinking of selling my XL-2 and buying one of these. I really love the XL-H1 but the size isn't most friendly. My only complaint with the XL-2 and the price tag is way out there. But this bad boy is perfect. Let me know if you pick one up and you like it. I know you will. I've always been a fan of Canon.

I thought you were holding out for the Red Cam? Also, you can get a 32" Olevia LCD with HD tuner, HDMI and a monitor port at Office Depot for around 600.

Yeah, I don't have $17,000 lying around at the moment. Maybe if I get a McKnight grant?

That Red cam sure is the bee's pajamas though... or the bee's kevlar tuxedo.

Ok, I feel I must say, I only make fun of you 'cause we usually don't have more than a coupla bux to rub together and they don't reproduce easily on their own. ; )

It may be fancy man talk - but I think I'm in love with this camera as well. My vx2100 seems so ancient, but I was never able to find something that was just as excellent in low light. After seeing the test footage I'm soooo jealous and I want one sooo bad. But we don't have more than a couple of bux to rub together either. :(
