NE MINNEAPOLIS PARADE
Run, children. Run for your lives!
This is a little slice of Americana, Nordeast Minneapolis style. I'm a sucker for parades and people-watching. Sadly my battery died so this video makes it look like only white people live here. There was some diversity in the parade, but not as much as in the audience. I was very happy to see female Muslim mayoral candidate Farheen Hakeem in the parade - perhaps the subject of a future vlog. Officially though, Lorika and I are delegates supporting the re-election of occasional blogger R.T. Rybak for mayor.

it's like I was there!

I really like how this video is composed with its combination of video clips, stills, zoomings and camera moves. The parade is also great in its variety, with marching bands, artists and "helicopter-cars".
The hints of the forthcoming election is also interesting with you smiling on the video with R. T. Rybak and at the same time giving his opponent credits. A videopost about Farheen Hakeem could be really interesting to watch within this context!

I would love to participate in a video post for this vlog. Also, I understand your need to want to see R.T. re-elected. But please think about voting for me September 13th. I think we would make a significant impact if I could get on the the ballot and knock out Peter. Just think about it. Thanks.

Thanks for dropping by Farheen!
I'd love to talk more sometime soon -- perhaps an interview for "Minnesota Stories" which is my new daily videoblog focused on MN.
