SIMON'S DREAM

Vlog_simonsdream
I am most fond of this short film.

"The life of solitary, asthmatic Simon collides with a nightmare of fears when Clara arrives at his door. 16mm b&w." This is my only foray into 16mm film, painstakingly cut by hand on a tape splicer. Thank God for computers! The computer voice narration is a bit hard to understand - sorry. Simon's Dream was featured in the Walker Art Center's 5 Minutes of Fame webcast in 2002.

VLOG ARCHIVE: DON'T LOOK BACK

"Daddy? Where has all the vlogging gone?" Not here, that's for sure. You see honey, daddy found a man that gives him money. (No, not that man - that man is gone. How did you know about that man?) Anyway, this is a new man, a very nice man who pays daddy to do perfectly legal things. So daddy has to do those things instead of videoblogging. Why? Because one day the man will grow tired of daddy and stop giving him money. Then daddy will be fucked, unless daddy saves some money now, while the man is happy and likes daddy. Do you understand, honey? Please try.

ANYWAY. My friends and I used to do these 24-hour movies and kick it improv-style, which is as bad as it sounds. We had to incorporate the sentence, "God knows, anything goes." This is what we came up with; it's called Don't Look Back: The Strawberry Jackson Story. I hope it leaves you feeling icky and weird.

I play Artie, the dad. I really did eat Crisco. Billy (old and young) is played by Jonathan. My wife Madge (no relation) is played by Honey #1, Grandma and little Hillary is our friend Maggie.
