I'M BREATHING IN

moblog_byrne

David Byrne and Tosca Strings: Alive, spastic, funky, soaring, poignant, funny, brilliant. I consider David Byrne to be my perfect dancer. He runs around backwards, bounces up and down, makes little sexy robot moves and juts his head like an abstractly funky chicken. The Tosca Strings were gorgeous accompaniment to Byrne's recent solo work, but surprised me with how much they rocked those old Talking Heads tunes. Among them, Lorika's favorite "This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)" and one of my faves, "What A Day That Was." Another surprise, a reworked version of "Lazy:"

Oh wow, wish I'd gone. I don't think I've ever seen David Byrne play live. The two songs you mention are favorites of mine as well.
