"The Blog Age Begins" is the second major Blogumentary segment I'm debuting. Lorika and I were thrilled to visit Dean HQ on December 30, 2003. Our kind and eloquent host was Mathew Gross who journeyed from Utah to Burlington, Vermont intent on bringing the power of blog to the Dean campaign. Had anyone but Joe Trippi been in charge, he might have been tossed out. But history smiled, and the first presidential blog was born in March, 2003. Goodbye Nixon-Kennedy debates, Hello blog.
This segment also features a bit of Christopher Lydon's Blogging of the President radio show, courtesy of Minnesota Public Radio.
The story of how the Dean blog was born isn't in here - we jump right into the thick of things. I haven't added Joe Trippi's spot-on commentary yet, either - he says so many great things, how can I narrow it down? I guess that's what DVD extras are for. And the Web.
In my current cut, the Dean Scream is followed by a different version of "Lori starts a blogs revolution". Lori started her blog out of anger and frustration with the media's incessant exaggeration of the Dean Scream.
