Beirut Fun-Fact™

The United Nations describes the destruction in Beirut as "horrific." They also say the "disproportionate response" by Israel was a "violation of international humanitarian law".

Flashback to 1972. My stepdad was there with a Lebanese friend. Where did they hang out? Why, the Playboy Club, of course! That's right. There was a Playboy Club in Beirut, and it was the only place you could buy an alcoholic drink. There were other drinking venues, but they were speakeasy-style, i.e. bring your own alcohol.

I hereby call on all world leaders and supernatural forces to turn back the clocks to 1972.

Dude, Beirut had it all, before the Civil War. Seriously. It wasn't called the Switzerland (and/or Paris) of the Middle East for nothing. And they were just building it back up again, before the "disproportionate response" by Israel. Fuckers.

The pity is that the Lebanese government was willing to mortgage its rebuilding program
by giving the southern half of the country to a terrorist organization.

Wow! I'm amazed there was such club in the Lebanese capital, it's a shame the magic has faded away from Beirut.
