In the "All press is good press" department, The Gothamist:

The last part of said trailer just seems a bit too much like something you'd see in a 6th grade class. A voiceover explains to, apparently an audience who has never heard of "weblogs" before, that: "Blogs offer a more personal citizen media perspective. When you start a blog: you are the media!" This is followed by incredibley cheesy synth music. Written by this person, who'd probably prefers writing about Kanya West and The Strokes.

Fair enough... see you at the Pioneer!

By the way, the source of the "cheesy synth music" is actually... well, I'm not going to say so I don't get in trouble. But it's actually a processed guitar. Famous dead person.

I wish I could drive down from New Hampshire to see it.

I will be there, and slightly square.
Wish you could get in early enough to see PANtasia.
I'll send you the DVD.
In an unmarked brown box that says "Not A Sex Toy".

I can't help but get a little miffed about these things, I have a right to be protective after all. So, let me just say this; hello? This doc was made in the beginning of the blog wave, and there are still people who don't know what a blog is.

The dirty little secret about this screening is that Blogumentary was finished at the end of 2004. That makes certain parts of it corny, dated and/or a nostalgic time capsule -- I'm cool with that. But most of it holds up fine because, as I like to say, "It's people! Blogs are people!"
