Time flies...

So, how do the rest of you out there find time to both blog (or do anything else) and garden this time of year? I'm having a really hard time with that, as you can tell...those of you that are left that is.

We are heading into what I like to call; the best time of the summer however. It's that time of the season when all the deliberating, procrastinating and planting has been done. All that is left now is the feeding, weeding and - hurray! - harvesting. I've nearly finished now with planting everything - yes, I know, a bit behind - but then when am I not? I have most of the large raised garden all set, providing all the beans I just planted come up, and only have a few more spots to fill. If it weren't for all that danged volunteer dill I've got all over the place, I'd have a few more holes. I would just rip it out, but I keep thinking I might need it. Perhaps a manic pickle making phase may strike? Never mind the cucumbers are barely in the ground.

So, How do you all do it, and what do you have left to do? What's your favorite time of the gardening season?

Dill is crazy, isn't it?

I barely do it. I'm still planting. Several crops got mowed down by bugs, but I'm seeing a lot of green lacewings in the garden now, and the second plantings are doing much better. I'm not sure what my favorite time of the season is, I love them all for their own sake. But harvest time is the most fleeting, isn't it?

I can't believe I still have no basil or cilantro planted. Well, I planted but it didn't make it. Twice. So sad. I must make time in the next couple of days to get it done. Maybe this time in pots on the deck. Many, many pots.

I suppose I get it and blogging done by completely neglecting my home and my family and my friends. This is probably not the best methodology?

All I do is weed. I am a one-woman Dandilion Death Dealer. And I'm still trying to figure out how stuff works up here! When it rains, it REALLY rains; either a slow and steady rain all day, or crazy flash-thunderstorms that dump buckets. A couple of weeks ago we got 8 inches in two hours (I can't make this stuff up).

This county is rough on plants!

Having not yetseen a whole gardening season through to the end, I'd have to say my favorite part is planting the seeds and waiting to see what happens!
