CHUCK IN A WHEELCHAIR
Let's see... what did I do Friday night? See the North American premier of A Prairie Home Companion? Nope. Go to any of the many SXSW parties with my videoblogger pals? No.
As you might have seen from my Flickr photo, I was in an Austin hospital with what turned out to be strep throat. This was a huge relief actually, because the doctor seemed kinda obsessed with giving me a spinal tap (!) to check for meningitis.
Anyway, I'll stop whining now. I've got antibiotics and am holed up in Robert's house, and he's just the nicest guy ever. A big-hearted Texan with the oldest pig in the state out in his backyard. Rocketboom has been editing their much-anticipated commercials on my laptop while I've been passed out in the spare bedroom, waiting for this to pass. Amanda's mom is a doctor, and says I should be mostly over it (and no longer contagious) after 24 hours on antibiotics. So tonight... I will emerge. Gently, like a feeble butterfly.

VLOG SANTA, IN HIGH DEFINITION
Check out my new video camera! It's so tiny, and so high-def baby. And it was pretty cheap on the eBay. It's not my dream camera, but it'll serve me well for lots of things right now, including Minnesota Stories. My man on the west coast Eric Rice is picking one up and wanted to see some footage. Unfortunately I screwed up the compression, and there's some blue screen noise, but this will have to do. For some reason it's really difficult to find sample HC1 footage - I hope to have plenty more.
I thought I'd do a little test run of Vlog Santa, who will be making his debut this Friday on MN Stories. This is more like Gay Santa - a work in progress, obviously. Plus a little bonus high-def acne footage at the end - eww!

I had the pleasure of seeing Michael Verdi in person a few days ago. It wasn't quite as strange as running into his alter ego Aren Mandala in Second Life. This is kinda long but gives you the feel of this world. Best line: omg - i just deleted my house

So I'm selling my rare and controversial "A Prairie Ho Companion" t-shirt on eBay. Since we don't have a decent still camera anymore, I used my video camera to pose for a few images. I thought it was kinda funny. I thought it would be even funnier set to Europe's Final Countdown with some ridiculous effects piled on. Enjoy.
